Eyalet kuzey dağları, Piedmont Platosu ve kıyı düzlüğü olarak üç bölgeye ayrılır. Savannah Nehri, St. Marys Nehri ve Chattahoochee Nehri başlıca nehirlerdir. Ilıman bir iklimi vardır. Yazları sıcak ve nemli, kışları ise ılık geçer. Kışın ortalama sıcaklık 6°C iken yazın ortalama 27°C olur. Georgia Amerika'da fındık, ceviz ve şeftali üretiminde bir numaralı eyalettir. Coca-Cola ve Dr. Pepper içeceklerinin ilk üretildiği ve satıldığı yer Georgia eyaletidir. Güneyin Empire State'i olarak adlandırılan Georgia aynı zamanda Şeftali Eyaleti ve Kraker Eyaleti olarak da bilinir. Ray Charles (şarkıcı), Amy Grant (şarkıcı), Hulk Hogan (profesyonel güreşçi), Martin Luther King, Jr. (insan hakları savunucusu), Burt Reynolds (aktör) Georgia eyaletinin ünlü simalarından bazılarıdır. Georgia Aquarium Dünyanın en büyük akvaryumu bu eyalette bulunur. Georgia adı nereden geliyor? Adını İngiltere kralı II. George'dan almıştır. Eyalet Bayrağı Georgia Mavi bir alan üzerindeki Georgia bayrağı eyalet mühürünü görüntülemektedir ve altında "In God We Trust" yazısı bulunan kurdele ise Georgia eyaletinin bayrak tarihini anlatmaktadır. Georgia eyalet bayrağı en son halini 30 Ocak, 2001 tarihinde almıştır.
